Animal Rescue Kochi (ARK) helps abandoned, suffering and sick animals in Kochi. They also focus on education and informing people about the issues that animals face in India daily.

Animal injury, abuse, and abandonment are at an all-time high in India. People usually oversee the suffering and pain of these dogs. In addition, ARK receives numerous calls to rescue and search animals. They not only save animals but also provide temporary shelters for the animals.

Once the animals get sufficient care, they reintroduce the dogs into society by finding better homes and owners. However, Animal Rescue Kochi (ARK) looks for their original owners (if any) first, and most of the dogs requiring rescue are dogs that have separated from their owners.

They do so by asking about possible dog owners and contacting vets to check if the dog seems familiar. They also provide a safe living environment for dogs until they recover fully.

Spay and Neuter Services: Animal Rescue Kochi

Overpopulation is a leading cause of dog suffering because there are insufficient resources to care for them. Therefore, Animal Rescue Kochi focuses on spaying and neutering them.

The dog suffering is highest in the low-income areas because the people cannot afford to have a dog. Controlling the dog population increases the chances of providing these dogs with the right living environment coupled with the following three approaches at ARK:

Rescue

Vaccinating the maximum number of dogs ensures better health, avoids factors that put their well-being at risk, and maximizes their life quality. They also run many vaccination drives every few months or whenever ample funds are available.

Hospital and Medical Care

Treating animals in India in the Kochi area is one of the most challenging parts of the job because of dog overpopulation. There are a few hospitals collaborating with ARK and planning to set up their emergency services for dogs. The service will help provide practical help and assistance to dogs needing surgery, medication, and general treatment.

Education and Outreach for Adoption

ARK aims at younger groups because they interact with owner-less animals the most and teach them how to care for animal welfare. Teaching younger groups makes it easier to bring animal welfare changes from the grassroots level and has helped put an end to animal suffering.
