Romanian Animal Rescue Organization (ROLDA) aids, rescues, and rehomes abused, neglected, and homeless cats and dogs in Romania and Ukraine. They run two dog shelters and a cat sanctuary and help over 1,000 animals each year.

Besides rescuing and rehoming dogs, ROLDA also helps the poor communities struggling to look after their pets responsibly. Also, they run education campaigns and extend their limited resources to help rescuers from other cities in Romania and during the war in Ukraine. To date, ROLDA has helped over 20,000 animals.

ROLDA has offices in Australia, Norway, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the USA. Their International office is located in Crofton MD.

Romanian Animal Rescue Organization (ROLDA): What They Do

ROLDA operates a rescue, shelter, rehabilitation, and rehome policy, providing essential care and support to animals in need.

Rescue

ROLDA actively rescues animals from various distressing situations such as abandonment, abuse, neglect, and injury. They conduct rescue operations to save animals from life-threatening conditions and bring them to safety.

Shelter

After rescuing animals, ROLDA provides a safe and secure shelter for them. They ensure that the rescued animals have access to food, water, medical attention, and a conducive living environment while they await further rehabilitation or rehoming.

Rehabilitate

They rehabilitate rescued animals to help them recover physically and mentally from any trauma they may have experienced. ROLDA gives them medical treatment, rehabilitation programs, and behavior training to improve the animals’ well-being and prepare them for a better quality of life.

Rehome

ROLDA works to find suitable forever homes for rehabilitated animals. They follow a careful screening and adoption process to ensure that the animals are placed in responsible and loving homes.

Education Campaigns by the Romanian Animal Rescue Organization (ROLDA)

ROLDA conducts impactful education campaigns to raise awareness about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. They engage with schools, communities, and online platforms, providing essential information about proper pet care, spaying/neutering, and the benefits of adoption.

Romanian Animal Rescue Organization (ROLDA): Where They Work

ROLDA was born in Galati, the 5th largest city in Romania. 15 years later, they extended their support to other struggling animal charities across Romania. Starting in 2021, they extend their aid to Tulcea, Caracal, Focsani, Solca, and Desa.
