About
Big Dog Ranch Rescue (BDRR) was founded in 2008 and operates in Florida and Alabama. They rescue dogs from high kill shelters that are old and injured, pregnant dogs or moms with litters, and dogs rescued from China slaughterhouses. At any time, over 1,600 dogs across Florida and Alabama are waiting for their forever families.
Their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome 10,000 dogs every year. Since its inception, they’ve saved the lives of over 80,000 dogs. They also focus on educating the public about responsible pet care and the importance of spaying and neutering.

Leadership Team
Lauree Simmons is the Founder and CEO of Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Her journey began after volunteering at a Weimaraner rescue and rescuing 14 dogs from a kill shelter in a single day. Lara Trump, President Trump’s daughter-in-law and the former Republican National Committee Chair, is on the Board of Directors!!!

4 Pillars
Big Dog Ranch Rescue is built on 4 key pillars: education, sterilization, legislation, and collaboration. Through these, they aim to end dog homelessness and abuse across the country.
1) Education: BDRR teaches communities about responsible pet care, adoption, and the importance of spaying and neutering.
2) Sterilization: They offer spay/neuter services, often for free, to reduce unwanted litters and prevent pet overpopulation.
3) Legislation: BDRR pushes for laws that protect animals, regulate breeders, and support overcrowded shelters.
4) Collaboration: They work with rescues, shelters, and advocates nationwide to save more dogs together.
