Sean Casey Animal Rescue (SCAR) rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, and small mammals in New York. They take in rescued, confiscated, neglected, injured, ill, unmanageable, or otherwise unwanted animals from private owners, zoos, and shelters.

The rescue takes in over 2,000 animals per year, the most of any other private rescue in New York.  Moreover, they strive to educate the public about respecting, understanding, and coexisting with the natural wildlife of New York City. 

Sean Casey Animal Rescue is located at 153 East 3rd Street in Brooklyn.

Sean Casey Animal Rescue: Critical Care Program

Their critical care program caters to animals with severe medical conditions or injuries that require specialized and intensive treatment. Sean Casey Animal Rescue also supports the city’s Animal Control and its neighbors when they encounter animals in critical need.

Sean Casey Animal Rescue cannot do this alone. So, your support is instrumental in sustaining the Critical Care Program. Furthermore, you can make a difference by donating and giving these animals a second chance at life.

Public Awareness: Understanding and Coexisting with Wildlife

They strive to educate the public about respecting, understanding, and coexisting with the natural wildlife of New York City through their programs and events. In conjunction with their licensed wildlife rehabilitators, they inform the public on the way to handle situations involving wildlife as well as rehabilitating injured and orphaned animals.

By participating in their activities, you can gain insights into the world of New York’s wildlife. Also, you’ll develop a greater appreciation for the ecosystem that surrounds us.
